Buenos Aires, March 25 (NA) – The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) released data on international tourism arriving in the country this February. According to the Argentine News Agency, international tourism grew by 8.0% compared to the same period in February 2026, but the number of Argentines vacationing abroad decreased. In this regard, INDEC indicates in its data that: “In February 2026, 534.2 thousand international tourists entered Argentina and 1.63 million left: 8.0% more and 10.7% less year-on-year, respectively.” In its day's report, INDEC presented tourism data for the month of February 2026. According to the analysis, INDEC marks that “21.1% of inbound tourism resides in Chile; 19.5% in Europe; 13.8% in the ‘United States and Canada’. The steps surveyed by the International Tourism Survey (ETI) represented 41.0% of total inbound tourism.” Furthermore, “departures abroad included 2,172.6 thousand resident visitors via all international routes, of which 1,629.2 thousand were tourists and 543.4 thousand were excursionists.” Regarding the motivations for travel, “57.8% of non-resident tourists indicated that ‘Holidays/leisure’ was the main reason for the trip. This result was due to the negative balance of 1,095.0 thousand tourists and 225.7 thousand excursionists”. It was followed by ‘Visiting family or friends’, which represented 28.4%”.
